An officer without dependants who shares premises with one or more/officers may draw the rent allowance appropriate to an officer with dependants; in which case no rent allowance shall be payable to the officer or officers with whom the premises are shared.

If two or more officers not entitled to free quarters share a set of quarters, the rent paid shall be the highest which any one of the officers would pay if he were the sole occupier.

If quarters are shared by an officer entitled to free quarters with one or more officers not so entitled, the rent payable shall be half of the highest rent which any one of the officers not entitled to free quarters would pay if he were the sole occupier.

An officer does not share premises in the meaning of this Order if another lives with him in the temporary absence of his dependants for not more than two months.

112. SUBLETTING ETC. PROHIBITED. Except with the permission of the Government and on such conditions as it may prescribe, no officer shall let, hire out, sublet or take any paying guest in his quarters or any premises for which he draws rent allowance.

113. FUEL AND LIGHT ALLOWANCE. A free supply of fuel and light, where its use is not controlled by the Government, is given to officers thereto entitled who occupy tenements, but only to one officer in respect of each tenement, and not exceeding -
